Service Description

This course meets the 45 hour online course requirement by the Texas Department of Public Safety – Private (DPS) Security Board to become a commissioned Armed Security Guard. This course meets the classroom requirements for a Level 3 Security Guard License. Upon completion, we will schedule your in-person range qualification and practical application hand-cuffing exercise needed for your PSP-30 Certificate. The course is self paced, but MUST BE COMPLETED IN 90 days to ensure your Live Fire Proficiency qualification and hand-cuffing practical exercise are completed within Texas Veteran Security Academy standards. This course is designed for the best learning experience for busy adults. We provide live support for our students to ask questions and we complete the process by scheduling your live fire qualification and hand-cuffing practical exercise. This is the Texas Veteran Security difference. Basic Firearms Fundamentals Course: (Not Included) The Basic Firearms Fundamentals Course is highly recommended for students to register for as they become familiar with their firearm. The Firearms Proficiency exam is NOT intended to be instructional, rather, it is intended to meet DPS requirements for Firearms Proficiency. Legal Notice: Please be advised under the Private Security Act (Occ. Code Chapter 1702) and Administrative Rule 35.4 (37 Tex. Admin. Code 1), a criminal conviction may disqualify you from a registration, commission or license under the Act. Please review Rule 35.4 for the list of disqualifying offenses and the related periods of ineligibility, available on the Department of Public Safety (DPS) website: http://www.dps.texas.gov/rsd/psb/index.htm You also have a right to request from DPS a criminal history evaluation letter under Occupations Code Section 53.102.
